About Poetry and I
Poetry is my first love! The relationship we share is like no other. This undying love affair began when I was only eleven years old and it has grown into something quite magical. Because of this God inspired gift, I was able to emerge from a suicidal state as a teenager, heal myself from years of emotional abuse, raise my self-esteem, and become one with the true nature of my spirit. Poetry is simply the gift that keeps on giving!
To date I've written close to 200 poems and have published more than 100 of them. My latest collection titled "Poetry is My Native Language: A Collection of Poetry, Essays, and Quotes" is currently pending release. In this offering I chose to focus on the uplifting of teens and others who find themselves where I once was... Hopeless, Broken, and Lost; surrounded by darkness, no one to talk to, and no one I could trust...Simply Lost! Then my pen became my best friend and what an honest, loving, non-judgmental friend it has been. "Now I know I was never lost; I was always in pursuit of myself"
